Kulasegaran is a Malaysian politician and is the current Member of Parliament for Ipoh Barat, Perak. He is a member the Democratic Action Party (DAP) in the Pakatan Rakyat opposition coalition. He also serves as the DAP's vice-chairman. Kulasegaran, a lawyer, was first elected to Parliament in the 2004 election. Kulasegaran is an ethnic Tamil and has voiced many issues affecting the Indian community in Malaysia.
