This book was built on the foundation of giving life changing concepts through intellectual thoughts, perspectives, quotes, and poetry. This book was not designed to followed any specific order but rather act as a guide to give positive insight to my dedicated supporters whom I call Lost Souls. Lost Souls is my clique that I've created over the years. The underpinning of this faction is that we all have one thing in common, BIG DREAMS. We are the souls that are unafraid to follow that vision our dream provides. We know that the road is hard and the challenges we face can be discouraging but we understand that with each step rather good or bad, draws us nearer to our purpose. Our purpose isn't what we do but it's who we are. It's the reason we wake up each morning and continue to fight for a dream that we cannot see. We rely on faith and confidence to propel our minds to new heights and diminish the stereotype that society controls who we are supposed to be. We are all great in our own rights. We all have the power to dream and think freely. We are all blessed with certain gifts to share with this world. Yet, so many forfeit their right to individuality when they accept societal standards over what's in their hearts. This book is my personal thoughts on how to truly be an individual; how to live life for you and be immersed in true freedom. In this book, you will see influential collaborations that I have personally written myself over the years of my career as a writer from all of my social media networking sites and blogs which includes Instagram, Tumblr, Twitter, and Facebook.show more

About Joseph Rivers

Joseph Rivers was born October 14th, 1990 in Lynwood, CA. Joseph began his educational career at McKinley Elementary School, located in Long Beach, CA. While there he began to notice something unique about himself. He not only possessed a great amount of intelligence but also the gift to write poetry. Joseph also won various awards for his brilliant academic performance as many of his teachers believed he was far to advanced for the grades in which he was placed. After completing elementary school, Joseph then enrolled into Alexander Hamilton Middle School. Joseph continued to write poems which eventually transpired in journal entries that focused on real aspects of life. He then began to use his life as the center of attention making a commitment to himself to write one page per day which listed the troubles, challenges, and accomplishments that were made in that day. After Joseph graduated from Hamilton Middle School in the top 3% of his class and winning dozens of awards and plaques of recognition, Joseph then enrolled into David Starr Jordan High School located in Long Beach, CA. Joseph stayed determined and kept the same level of intensity as each year his GPA increased; residing in the 3.9 GPA bracket. Joseph began to notice after all that he had accomplished and wanted to be known for, the most important thing was not only being a hard worker but also giving back to the community. He volunteered in various organizations such as the Long Beach Veterans Administrations Hospital, Bright Star's Tutoring Program, Long Beach Wrap, Athletic training, etc. By the end of his senior year he had completed 1117 service learning hours. He also went on to win 26 academic awards, 2 plaques, and a great number of recognitions. He also earned 41 scholarships including the Bill Gates Millennium Scholarship which gave Joseph a full ride scholarship to any college of his choosing in the country. With a post acceptance to Harvard University; he chose to attend Prairie View A & M University. Joseph goes to show you that anything can be accomplished with hard work, dedication, commitment and a dream. In November 2009, Joseph announced that with the journals entries and live testimonies that he had collected over the years of his life will be transformed into a book entitled, A Young Man with a Plan. With this book he plans to motivate, educate, and inspire not only his peers but the world.show more
