Review quote

From: The Church Times 6 May 2005 A resource that has helped me with assembly ideas, though it is aimed at group sessions, kid's clubs, or holiday-workshop events is Lucy Moore's The Lord's Prayer Unplugged. Its material for ten active sessions is aimed at Key Stage 2 children, but it is adaptable up and downwards: sketches, crafts, stories, and ideas for praying and singing. From Directions September 2004 A teaching programme for 7 - 11 year olds, sharing the riches of the Lord's Prayer in some ten sessions. There is a clear and simple purpose, to teach this central treasure of the Christian faith, phrase by phrase. There is plenty of material in each session, probably more than one could fit into the time available. It will need energy and commitment from the teachers, but for those whose problem is a lack of confidence in the teaching, this is a most valuable aid. From Star News - diocese of London August 2004 Whew! Although this book claims to have only 10 sessions of the Lord's Prayer, there's so much material that it will keep you going for much longer! Breaking the prayer into 10 phrases, each session has ice-breakers, ideas for quiet reflection, drama, stories, biblical links, prayer ideas and songs.

About Lucy Moore

Lucy Moore is the founder of Messy Church, a rapidly-growing ministry that is now in over 20 countries worldwide. Before working full-time with Messy Church, Lucy was a member of BRF's Barnabas children's ministry team, offering training for those wanting to bring the Bible to life for children in churches and schools across the UK, and using drama and storytelling to explore the Bible with children herself. Her books include titles in the Messy Church series, as well as AllAge Worship, Colourful Creation, Bethlehem Carols Unpacked, The Lord's Prayer Unplugged and The Gospels Unplugged. She also presents Messy Church: the DVD. A secondary-school teacher by training, she enjoys acting, walking Minnie the dog, marvelling at the alien world of her two teenage children and guiltily watching unimproving television programmes.
