Review Text

What a fabulous book! Billed as a 'visual celebration of a century of change', these pages are packed full of the very best examples of design - from posters to furniture, dolls to china, fashion to toilets, vehicles to photocopiers. Every item is beautifully photographed. Each decade has a section highlighting manufacturing achievements, then there are illuminating pages on developments around the home (remember the Betamax video, the New World cooker, pampas bathroom suites, cabbage patch dolls?) and a fascinating section on product development. The book finishes with an A-Z of designers. Visual proof that 'change has been this century's only constant'. (Kirkus UK)show more
