About Mance Ian Wright

When Mance Ian Wright retired in 2005, he and his wife moved from Des Moines, Iowa, to the Ozark Mountains. After settling in, he started writing short stories. He has a talent, and soon after he published his first book, Clearing the Last Hurdle & Other Short Stories, one of those stories inspired the writing of his first novella, The Long Trip Back. Set in the 1860s in southern Missouri, the book follows the lives of the Hawkins family, touching on the life-changing events that result from a son's return from the Civil War in 1865. More stories will surely follow!show more
