Poor Philadelphia. The Eleventh Annual Convention of the Western Gas Association was a most gratifying success. The attendance was good and unusual accessions were made to the ranks of both active and associate membership. The sessions were held in a roomy auditorium, the acoustic qualities of which were excellent, a fact which was appreciated. The entire arrangements made were excellent, and the local committee certainly discharged its duties in a painstaking manner and without stint of any kind. From the arrival of the first member until the last group separated there was a series of receptions, entertainments and pleasant associations, of which the fragrant memories will long linger. We give, in this issue, the synopsis of the proceedings, with all the regular papers read at the different sessions. Through the carelessness of an engraver, we cannot illustrate Mr. Chollar's paper. The illustrations accompanying Mr. Gimper's papers were blue prints, from which we cannot obtain drawings and cuts in time for the present issue; so we leave the papers over.
