About Dr Ken H Stewart

After graduating from Oakwood University with a BS degree, Dr. Stewart moved to Loma Linda California to pursue graduate studies. In 2003, he graduated with a master's degree in public health and continued on to receive his Doctorate of Public Health degree (DrPH), specializing in clinical preventive care. Dr. Stewart's dissertation was entitled "the relationship between vegetarian diets and the incidence of diabetes" showing that participants who consumed a vegan diet had the lowest risk of developing diabetes. Dr. Stewart has gained meaningful experience working with Lite Weights weight management clinic, an affiliation of Beaver Medical Group, consulting with patients one-on-one and in a group setting. Dr. Stewart created and implemented a wellness manual for the Riverside County Human Resources Division under the Wellness Department. His one-on-one work with Riverside County employees enabled them to make healthy lifestyle changes, lose weight, and appropriately manage their lifestyle diseases. Given the opportunity to work at the San Bernardino Nutrition Department as a Preventive Care Intern, Dr. Stewart spent time working with Operation Phoenix, an adolescent exercise/gaming program which encouraged students to engage in more physical activity while having fun. With multiple years of experience, Dr. Stewart created LifeSwitch to help patients as well as families learn about wellness, implement wellness in their lives and live healthfully. LifeSwitch encourages patients to invest in their health because when a person invests in their health early they reap the benefits later on in life. It is better to make the sacrifice early rather than later. He is actively involved in the American Public Health Association, the American College of Lifestyle Medicine, the American Heart Association, the Society for Public Health Education and the American Diabetes Association. Dr. Stewart is a devoted husband, and resides with his wife and daughter in more
