They would rather remain in darkness, than give up their present conditions and accept the truth. THE MISSIONS CENTRAL STATES. December 14 and 15 President Bennion met with the elders and lady missionaries of the Missouri conference at St. Louis. A number of priesthood and hall meetings were held and at each one a live interest and thorough appreciation was manifest. The house was well filled at each session with saints, friends and investigators. Conference President Klmball reports there has been 800 cottage meetings held in four months. The branch of the church in that city is in a prosperous and progressive state. The saints are all feeling well and a number of investigators are showing interest in the work. The following news has been received from President Ray Parkinson and Elder Irvin D. Glazier of the South Texas conference. "While on our way from Kelsey we stopped at a hotel where some of the elders had stopped before, and had sown seeds which have begun to mature. The next morning the lady of the hotel invited us to hold a meeting there, which we were glad to do. She called in all her guests and had the privilege of preaching the gospel to them.
