He appeared in over 75 films between 1916 and 1948. Davis appeared in his first film in 1916. He began to achieve fame after arriving at Columbia Pictures, appearing several Three Stooges shorts including Slippery Silks, Dizzy Doctors and Three Little Sew and Sews. His most memorable appearance was as a con man in Cash and Carry and Playing the Ponies. A versatile character actor, Lewis often appeared as villains, waiters, soldiers, lawyers, et al. As of 2009, Davis' birth and death date are unknown. His final film appearance was in 1948's The Gallant Blade.
