Les tintinophiles parlent du Soviets, la premiere aventure de Tintin, comme les anthropologues parlent de Lucy : avec tendresse, avec passion. Était-elle séduisante ? A l’époque, sans doute; mais aujourd’hui, apres tant d’années ? Qu’importe, cette aventure est celle de la naissance de Tintin : elle n'est rien qu’en cela inestimable. Hergé lui-meme (il a 22 ans) ne peut imaginer la destinée fabuleuse de ce héros qu’il créé au pied levé, le 10 janvier 1929, pour une publication en feuilleton hebdomadaire. L’album qui suit des 1930 sera néanmoins tiré a 10 000 exemplaires, preuve du succes immédiat de la série. Mais il ne sera ni réimprimé ni adapté pour la couleur comme le furent les huit autres albums parus ensuite en noir et blanc. Devenu mythique apres la guerre et introuvable, il ne fut plus disponible, hors divers tirages limités aux amateurs, avant sa réédition en 1981 en version Fac-similé. Le tirage anniversaire de janvier 99, sous meme présentation et prix que les 22 albums en couleurs, est destiné a rendre accessible a tous les amoureux de Tintin ce numéro zéro, dans toute son authenticité et ses hésitations de l’époque.

About Hergé

Hergé, one of the most famous Belgians in the world, was a comics writer and artist. The internationally successful "Adventures of Tintin" are his most well-known and beloved works. They have been translated into 38 different languages and have inspired such legends as Andy Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein. He wrote and illustrated for "The Adventures of Tintin" until his death in 1983.
