Description

Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. Lechlade railway station served the small town of Lechlade in Gloucestershire. The station was on the East Gloucestershire Railway line between Witney and Fairford; it was built where the line crossed the road to Burford, 0.7 miles north of Lechlade. The station was opened on 15 January 1873. It had one platform, a stone-built station building, a signal box, a goods shed, and a cattle dock. During the Second World War the line was busy with traffic for RAF Fairford, so the Great Western Railway added a passing loop.show more
