Immediately upon receiving such warrant the sheriff shall forthwith execute the same and return it to such judge. If any county judge shall refuse or neglect for the space of five days after receiving such notice to issue and deliver to the sheriff such warrant, or if the sheriff shall refuse to receive the same," or neglect for twenty days after receiving it to demand such patient, the superintendent may appoint some suitable person to remove such patient at the expense of the county. Funds for patient. Section 598. When any patient is discharged as cured the superintendent shall furnish him with suitable clothing and a sum of money not exceeding twenty dollars, unless otherwise supplied, all of which shall be charged to the county from which such patient was sent; but if such patient was not a resident of any county, such money and clothing shall be furnished at the expense of the state.
