About Jim Poindexter

About the Authors Jim Poindexter (1947-2002) was a native of Yadkin County, North Carolina, and aspired to be a writer from an early age. Besides being an avid fisherman, he was a UNC Tarheels basketball fan as well as a fan of the Atlanta Braves baseball team. As a fiction editor with The Editorial Department, he was instrumental in helping new authors publish their manuscripts and also taught workshops on various aspects of writing. Candy Poindexter, Jim's wife for 31 years, enjoys finding his unpublished works to edit and to update in order to publish them as a memoriam to him. Teaching middle school math for 41 years, she now enjoys the benefits of retirement with her current husband and their two dogs on a 19 acre farm in the upstate of South Carolina.show more
