Review quote

...This is a milestone English-language presentation of an important Surrealist writer. Library Journal ...A translation which is always reliable, and most sensitive to the original language when it most needs to be, one leaves 'Phoenix,' and Eluard's poems as a whole, with renewed awe at their unitary simplicity and grace. -- PN Review (UK) ... .Kallet's translations are very good, and she has written a useful introduction that places in its personal, linguistic, and aesthetic context the last work of this poet...
