Katherine Grainger: Dreams Do Come True tells the inspirational story of one of Britain's golden girls from London 2012. Great Britain's finest woman rower had one final career target to achieve and, on 3 August 2012, on the water at Eton Dorney, she - and Anna Watkins - beat five other pairs and London 2012 Olympic Games women's Double Sculls gold medals were theirs. At the age of 36, and after winning silver medals in 2000, 2004 and 2008, Katherine Grainger could finally call herself an Olympic champion. This gold medal was added to her six World Championship golds and more than a dozen in the World Cup. Katherine's story is a remarkable one - proof that nice people can be winners and dedication and hard work pay off. Grainger has combined her athletic career with her education and she has degrees from Glasgow and Edinburgh Universities and is working towards a PhD from London, in subjects as diverse as law, philosophy and murder. Now much in demand as a media celebrity and motivational speaker, Katherine Grainger has packed a huge amount into her 37 years and in this autobiography she tells her fascinating story, the highs and lows, and her ultimate moment of glory in front of 30,000 home fans.show more

About Katherine Grainger

Dr Katherine Grainger is Great Britain's finest female rower and the most decorated one, too, with four Olympic Games medals - one gold - and eight World Championship medals (six gold) and seven rowing World Cups. But Katherine is more than just a star on the water, she is highly intelligent, having earned an Honours law degree from Edinburgh University, a Master of Philosophy degree from Glasgow University and, whilst training for the London 2012 Games, completed a PhD at King's College, London. Still undecided about trying to emulate her hero Sir Steve Redgrave and attempting to win a fifth Olympic Games medal at Rio 2016, she is much in demand as a public and motivational speaker.show more
