Jurii Zaharovich Kirnev (born February 3, 1989 in Leningrad) is a film director, writer, cinematographer, editor, visual artist, film critic and musician. He grew up in Budapest. Jurii attended EICAR ( cole Internationale de Cr ation Audiovisuelle et de R alisation) in Paris, where his works were judged by award-winning film directors such as Claude Lelouch, Dennis Hopper, Richard Leacock and Bob Swaim. Kirnev's first major success was in 2009, when his documentary film What is School? caused a scandal in Russian Embassy in Budapest, Hungary and quickly spread across Russian social network VKontakte.show more
