Adoniram Judson "Jud" Birchall (September 12, 1855 - December 22, 1887) was an American Major League Baseball player who played left field for the Philadelphia Athletics in the American Association for three seasons from 1882 to 1884. Birchall died at the age of 32 of a pulmonary ailment, and is interred at Milestown Baptist Church Cemetery in Philadelphia. Major League Baseball (MLB) is the highest level of professional baseball in the United States and Canada, consisting of teams that play in the National League and the American League. The two leagues merged in 2000 into a single MLB organization led by the Commissioner of Baseball after 100 years as separate legal entities.show more
