Excerpt: ... amendments agreed on by ye Comitee of the whole house to ye bill Entituled an Ad concerning Servants and Slaves, and ye same being read, were with some amendments agreed unto by ye house. Ordered That ye said amendments be made in ye Bill, and y' ye said Bill be read a second time The house resolved itself into a Comitee of ye whole house upon ye bill, Entituled an Ad direding y duty of Surveyors of Land & afcertaining their fees, and after some time spent therein, Mr Speaker resumed the chair, and Mr Peter Beverly reported from the said Committee, y' they had made some progress in ye bill, and directed him to move, that they may have Leave to sit againe. Refolvrd That ye House will againe resolve it self into a Comitee of ye whole house upon ye sd Bill. Then ye house resolv'd it self into a Comitee of ye whole house upon the bill Entituled an Ad for Encouragement of building grift and fulling mills, and after some time spent therein, Mr Speaker resum'd ye chair, and Mr Peter Beverly reported from ye sd Comitee, y' they had gone through ye bill and agreed upon Several amendments to be made therein, which they had directed him to report, when ye house will please to receive the same. Ordered That ye said report be made on munday morning The house (according to order) was called over, and ye absence of those members, y' did not appear excused. Mr Mafon of Stafford moving for Leave to go to his house in the Countrey upon Extraordinary occasions--Leave is accordingly given him.
