Excerpt from Journal of the House of Representatives of the General Assembly of the State of North Carolina: Session 1941 This day, in compliance with the provisions of the Constitution, the mem bers-elect of the House of Representatives assemble in their Hall in the City of Raleigh and at 12 O'clock noon, in accordance with the Statutes, are called to order by Honorable Thad Eure, Secretary of State. Prayer is offered by Dr. S. L. Stealey, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Raleigh, North Carolina. The roll is called and the following members-elect answer to their-names and appear with the proper certificates of election and take and subscribe to the following prescribed oath of office, which is administered by Associate Justice A.
