Powder shall be delivered at the nearest switch to the working place, and the company shall not be responsible for the loss of powder. EIGHTEENTH. That the time for starting shall be 7:30 a. m. the year round, taking one-half hour for dinner and quitting at 4 p. m. for a full shift of eight hours. By mutual consent of both parties at any mine, this may be deviated from, but not otherwise. The company shall blow the whistle no work one hour before starting time when they have no cars; and it will be understood that when the whistle blows work there are cars in sight for that mine. NINETEENTH. Rules to Govern Firing Time--Firing time, in case the mine runs seven hours or over, shall be five minutes before quitting time; in case the mine runs less than seven hours, the time to be left to the miners working at said mine, provided, however, that the time for firing shall not be less than one hour nor more than two after the pit quits hoisting, the company to give the signal for the miners to go by, and any miner firing before such signal is given, unless permission is given by said company, shall be considered violating this agreement; and in case the company failing to give the firing signal, they shall be considered violating this agreement. The company shall notify the miners when the mine quits hoisting. TWENTIETII. That the date of pay day shall be the nearest Saturday to the I2th and 26th of each month, and the hour to commence paying in case the mine is idle shall be 2 o'clock p. m., when the mines are running the hour to commence paying shall be quitting time, to--wit, at 4 o'clock p. m., by mutual consent...show more
