John Alban Edwards (born June 10, 1938 in Columbus, Ohio) was a former professional baseball catcher known for his excellent defensive skills. He played in the Major Leagues for the Cincinnati Reds (1961-67), St. Louis Cardinals (1968) and Houston Astros (1969-74). He graduated from Ohio State University where he led the team in hits (24) in 1958 and was initiated into the Phi Kappa Tau fraternity.
