He formed the band Shitake Monkey with Peter Wade Keusch of Lynn & Wade LLP and the band Stiffed with 4 other members that include longtime collaborator Santigold. John Hill has worked as producer, composer, songwriter and remixer. He produced Santigold's debut album in 2008, The Bravery's "Stir The Blood" in 2009 and teamed up with The Bravery's frontman Sam Endicott to work on two songs for Shakira's She Wolf (including her hit single "She Wolf) and a bonus track on Christina Aguilera's Bionic. The following year, he reunited with Shakira on her album Sale El Sol producing 3 songs including her hit single "Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)" and teamed up with Santigold to produced 2 songs for Devo.
