John George Champion ( 1815 - 1854 ) was an English soldier, botanist, and explorer, which recollected a great variety of vegetables from China, and he came back to Inglaterra in 1850. He came back in front of the Crimea combat, commanding the 95 Regt., and he died in the Scutari hospital, at November 30, 1854 due to injuries receibed while he commanded his Regiment in the Inkerman battle. he granted the first constitution to the colony, ended the 8th Cape Frontier War and crushed the Basutos. In 1853 he was appointed Adjutant-General to the Forces. He was killed during the Battle of Inkerman in the Crimean War, on 5 November 1854.
