Jetsun Pema (born 4 June 1990) is a Bhutanese who is currently engaged to King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck of Bhutan, a constitutional monarchy. Their marriage is scheduled to be held in October 2011. The royal wedding would be held first in Punakha followed by formal visits to different parts of the country. She has strong links with India and was educated at the Lawrence School Sanawar.Jetsun Pema was born in Thimphu on 4 June 1990 in the Thimpu Hospital. Her father is Dhondup Gyaltshen, the grandson of Trashigang Dzongpon Dopola from Trashigang who graduated from Sherubtse College, Kanglung and has been a commercial pilot for last 22 years, intially with Druk Air now Bahrain Airways). Her mother, Sonam Chuki, is the god daughter of His Royal Highness Prince Namgyel Wangchuck but she considered herself as an ordinary Bhutanese subject; her father is the half brother of their late majesties, Mayum Phuntsho Choden and Mayum Pema more
