Jeremy Richard Streynsham Hunt is the British Secretary of State for Culture, Olympics, Media and Sport. He is the Conservative MP for South West Surrey. The elder son of Admiral Sir Nicholas Hunt, a senior officer in the Royal Navy, Hunt was raised in Surrey close to the constituency that he now represents in Parliament.Hunt was educated at Charterhouse School, an independent school near Godalming in Surrey, where he was head boy, followed by Magdalen College at the University of Oxford, where he achieved a First in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics. He became President of Oxford University Conservative Association in 1987. Shortly after graduating, Hunt became a management consultant before resigning to become an English language teacher in Japan.
