Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. Rabbi Jehu August Crowdy Jr. was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Rabbi Jehu A. Crowdy, Sr. and Sylvia W. Crowdy. He is a great-grandson of Prophet William S. Crowdy and is currently the spiritual leader of the Church of God and Saints of Christ, one of the oldest Hebrew Israelite congregations started in the United States. Rabbi Crowdy received his early academic education in Philadelphia, and graduated from Temple University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education. Crowdy was also reared in the Church of God and Saints of Christ at a young age, serving as a choir member and officer. While studying at Temple University, Jehu began an intense, critical study of the Bible, and his spirituality and faith intensified. Rabbi Levi S. Plummer (leader of the Church of God and Saints of Christ at that time), took note of Crowdy's spiritual growth and mental aptitude and in 1992 ordained him to the ministry as an Elder at the age of 22.
