Jean-Pierre Willem, born 24 May 1938 at Sedan (France), is a physician and founder of M decins Aux Pieds Nus. He led numerous humanitarian missions to help victims of catastrophes and conflicts. Willem also was a doctor of medicine and president of Organic Union International. In 1959, Jean-Pierre Willem coorganised the departure of 93 medical students to help local population during the Algerian War. In 1964, Dr Jean-Pierre Willem was missioned six months with Doctor Albert Schweitzer in Lambar n (Gabon) and then in Rwanda. In 1977, he worked with Bernard Kouchner for M decins Sans Fronti res and went to Laos during 7 months. In 1986, he created the Facult Libre de M decine Naturelle et d'Ethnom decine (nicknamed FLMNE), a free faculty of natural medicine at La Sorbonne.
