James Ervan Parker (born December 21, 1942, in La Habra, California) is an American Singer-songwriter and co-founder of the Huntsville, Alabama Sub-chapter of the Nashville Songwriters Association International. Jim Parker started professionally in 1963 in Amarillo, Texas with Dot Records as a song writer, rhythm guitar player and singer for the Illusions. The group was produced by Tommy Allsup in Odessa, Texas. The group continued to record in Amarillo under the Ruff label, produced by Ray Ruff. In 1965 the group moved to Los Angeles where they changed to the name "The Kitchen Cinq" and worked under Lee Hazlewood's label.show more
