Iron Night : A Generation V Novel
Underemployed by day. Undead by night. Underachieving film theory graduate and vampire Fortitude Scott may be waiting tables at a snooty restaurant run by a tyrannical chef who hates him, but the other parts of his life finally seem to be stabilizing. He's learning how to rule the Scott family territory, hanging out more with his shapeshifting friend Suzume Hollis, and has actually found a decent roommate for once. Until he finds his roommate's dead body. The Scott family cover-up machine swings into gear, but Fort is the only person trying to figure out who (or what) actually killed his friend. His hunt for a murderer leads to a creature that scares even his sociopathic family, and puts them all in deadly peril. Keeping secrets, killing monsters, and still having to make it to work on time? Sometimes being a vampire really sucks.

Our customer reviews
The second novel in the Generation V series is a fascinating and action filled urban fantasy. Fortitude Scott¢??s life finally seems to be stabilizing; he¢??s learning how to rule the Scott family territory, hanging out more with his shapeshifting friend Suzume Hollis and has finally found a decent roommate for once. Until he finds his roommate¢??s dead body and the hunt for his killer leads to a creature that terrifies even his sociopathic family and puts them all in deadly peril. The plot starts off a little on the slow side, but soon takes off and keeps the reader on their toes with lots of suspense and action. The author brings the story to life with vivid images and details that grab the reader¢??s attention and keeps them engaged to the very last word. The characters are strong and compelling with lots of interesting quirks and personalities that add lots of depth to the story and leave the reader wanting to know more. There¢??s not really any romance in the book as it is an urban fantasy, but there is flirting and hinting at a future romance in the making. The relationship between Fort and his friends is interesting and complicated and that seems to fit right into his life. The action is described in vibrant detail that makes it easy for the reader to picture it as it happens. The author has created an exciting paranormal world with lots of interesting original twists that makes for a refreshing and intriguing read and keeps the reader turning the pages until the very end. The supernatural characters are not only captivating they are quirky and fun while being deadly at the same time keeping things real interesting. I haven¢??t read the first book in the series, but I had no trouble following this story, but of course with the hints of the happenings in previous book, I will be reading it soon. And I am looking forward to reading future books in the series to see just where Fort¢??s life takes him and his friends, especially since I really doubt they can stay out of trouble. *** Note: This series has also been referred to as the American Vampires series or the Fortitude Scott series. ***show moreby Eva Millien
