Description

Invasion of the State is the story of DD, an employee of a New York City agency of the future. She is an executioner and wears the black uniform and red mandarin collar that identifies her. She also possesses the red dot, a license to kill from the Emperor of China. DD discovers an urban legend, a white powder that conveys power and energy, strength and well-being. DD believes it is talc or corn starch. Another urban legend related to crave or life as it is sometimes called, is that it was dropped off by a spacecraft in a field outside of New York City. There are agents in New York City, men who wear long black robes and carry swords; women who cover their faces with black veils and hide when they are seen. Finley, a reporter for the local tabloids, tells her of the invasion of New York State by the Celestial Khan, a direct descendant of Genghis Khan, who has laid claim to the northern part of the state along with his armies and livestock. The Celestial Khan, has an army of one million men housed in upper New York State. Why he is there is kept a secret from the population.show more
