Another result is that the association has also demonstrated what we can do for one another. We have measured out our best, and it has created a willingness to repay. Imagine the past twenty-five years without a northwestern association and see if you can enjoy the picture; no comradeship, no trust or enjoyment--a drudgery, selfish, lonely--In place of brotherhood, suspicion. We should then be but little, if any, in advance of what we were twenty-five years ago. But see what we have doue for one another. Behold this meeting. Contract ourselves, the best of us, with what we were when this association was born; what we are as well as what we have. There ought1 not to be, I doubt if there are now, many secrets between honorable members of our calling. Experiences are freely shared between us. This association has taught us how much and how well we can do for others. It is by sharing that we have accumulated and by dividing that we have multiplied. Another result is that the association has been a great factor in the personal advancement of its members to greater trusts and places.
