MDCCCLIX etiamnunc in Pin dari carminibus locos baud paucos inveniri, ubi viri docti propter verborum corruptelas aut structurae difficultatem de poetae sententia ambigerent, hac scribendi occasione ita utar, ut exemplo illustrem et doceam exstare in eo poeta versus, quorum vim, licet lectio, verborum significatio, structura grammatica difficultatibus nullis premantur, interpretes tamen aut omnino non aut ex parte tantum assecuti sint. Quibus locis Isthm. 1, 10 adnume randum esse, de quo in Philol. T. XVIII, p. 486 egi, verbo monuisse suffi ciat: pluribus de carminis Isthmii secundi prooemio disseram.
