Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. Immingham TMD is a railway Traction Maintenance Depot situated in Immingham, North East Lincolnshire outside Grimsby, England. Originally built by the Great Central Railway in 1912 to service the newly opened Immingham Docks, it was taken over by the LNER and later Eastern Region of British Railways post World War II. In 1950, it had 120 attached locomotives, which by 1965 with a shed code of 40B, had been reduced to only 27. Locomotive types deployed include LNER Thompson Class B1, LMS Stanier Class 8F, and BR standard class 9F. The shed closed to steam in 1966, one of the last in the Eastern region to do so.
