Review Text

'From time immemorial, early peoples all over the world have recounted fantastical yet familiar myths'. This somewhat condensed dictionary looks at general themes - creation, gods, monsters, endings - as well as civilizations such as ancient Egypt, the Classical World, and the Americas. This is an ideal book for a quick flick through or an introduction to the subject. It has excellent illustrations (great picture research and appealing commissioned artwork) and the good layout means it is bound to be a big hit with younger readers, but I found it vastly overambitious in its scope and lacking in content.
