This is deemed a poetry book...That's pretty much stretching the definition of written poetry. Nevertheless, for those who have followed the "I wrote this for you blog" and enjoyed it, this is an exciting book to have. The words written are vague, they may appear absurd, nonsensical, or profound, it really is your take. I can't quite agree that the writing quite matches the feelings of the photos...but again that's left for your interpretation. This is not a book to skim through as such, it's best enjoyed a handful of "poems" at a time, and ponder upon it. If you are after a book to skim through, this is a waste of time.show moreby Felix Li
The book is based on a good idea but is not well implemented. The idea (I think) is to link an image to related text. The text is not a title but open prose which may or may not have any relationship to the associated photo. It is left to you the reader to make of it what you will. That of itself is quite novel. The notion is that either the words or the image stimulate the reader's imagination and make you think. Unfortunately I found it hard to see any link in many cases - or maybe I was not meant to! I Wrote This For You is a bit too clever. In any case the book is spoilt by very poor quality of reproduction. The photos look like they are photocopies at best. Another weird thing is that there is no stated author. Whoever put it together is also careful not to describe it as a book for photographers. All in all it is a strange book. It may appeal to some and I hope it does but I was disappointed. Try to see a copy before deciding if it is for you.show moreby Michael Robson
I Wrote This For You is so deep and vague it can mean anything to anyone. I absolutely loved this book. Some of the short stories are only one sentence long but they just make your heart explode. I loved this book and I know you will too. Because this book, was written for you.show moreby Krissy Tolstrup
