This substantial volume makes a companion to the previously published Treasuries of Children's Literature and Poetry, now available in a hefty single tome. Divided into three sections, it includes nursery stories - Goldilocks and the Three Little Pigs and Red Riding Hood - alongside Cinderella and the Emperor's New Clothes for the very young. Wilde's The Selfish Giant is, curiously, retold, along with Puss in Boots, The Ugly Duckling, The Princess and the Pea, for the in betweens. The section for older children includes The Wild Swans, Beauty and the Beast and the Snow Queen.
