Set in a dark vision of the near future, a terrifying reality TV show is taking place. Twelve boys and twelve girls are forced to appear in a live event called The Hunger Games. There is only one rule: kill or be killed. When sixteen-year-old Katniss Everdee steps forward to take her younger sister's place in the games, she sees it as a death sentence. Our customer reviews

As mentioned earlier pages 59-394 from Mockingjay are from the book Hunger Games.Have contacted the publisher who are aware of the problem and are issuing new copies-correctly printed, to suppliers. No response from Book Depository as of yet even though I contacted them first thing this morning.Hope Book Depository automatically send a revised correct copy of Mockingjay to customers who bought this box more

I bought this trilogy and it arrived yesterday, I started reading the books straight away and finished the first two...when I started to read the last book however I noticed that after page 58, the book switches back to the first book...this continues until page 395! This is obviously a misprint but may it be a warning to those buying in case this has happened to all the box more

A horrible idea that children have to fight to the death in an arena, just to keep the rest of the population under control. But, what a read!!!! Wow!!!show more

I was given book one by my brother my for birthday and was a bit sceptical given the cover art but gave it a chance on his recommendation and was totally engrossed within pages. As mentioned by the previous reviewer it's in the vein of the TWTWB series but radically different; set in a future when North America has been divided into "districts", each poorer than the last, which surround the Capitol (the seat of all wealth and power). Katniss Everdeen lives in district 12 and struggles daily to find food for herself, her mother and younger sister. The "Games" of the title take place every year; a boy and a girl chosen from each district are transported to an arena where their struggle to survive against the other tributes is televised. The winner is the only person to survive. Of course, Katniss becomes the female tribute for district 12 and we follow her journey. The books are well written and accessible; real page turners. I'd recommend them for anyone from age 12 up. I did feel the ending of book three didn't quite live up to the standard of the rest of the series but you can't have everything!show more

I read the first book in the series (which I paid full price for in NZ) and then decided I wanted the others to read ... For less than the price of ONE BOOK I got all three. Win! Great series. It's a teen story though but if you like Tomorrow When the War Began or other teenage novels that don't age, then this series is brilliant. Looking forward to the more
