Review Text

Essentially a cartoon-illustrated glossary of 42 "economic" (more specifically, business) terms, all explained by way of a hypothetical lemonade stand and neatly arranged in a sequence that has hireling Johnny (LABOR) going on STRIKE for a juicer, becoming UNEMPLOYED when the juicer (AUTOMATION) takes over his job, setting up his own stand (COMPETITION) and UNDERSELLING his previous boss, and then forming a MERGER with her. Unlike Riedel (p. 539, J-181), Armstrong avoids such weighty matters as global policy or even inflation and GNP - but we wonder what purpose will be served by teaching primary schoolers to rattle off even the definitions he does include.
