About Andrea Drugay

Andrea Drugay is a licensed cosmetologist (hair, skin, and nails beauty expert) and working hairstylist in San Francisco, CA. She is the author of the book, A Year of Natural Health and Beauty: 52 Easy, Frugal, Natural Ideas to Enhance Your Mind, Body, and Spirit, published in 2014. She has been featured on as one of their "Healthy Hairdressers," and is currently working on her next book, a guide to yoga and meditation for hairstylists. She has been a writer and editor for over 20 years, in fields as diverse as high tech, advertising, marketing, yoga, fitness, and wellness. She has a BA in Communication and an MFA in Creative Writing. Her work has been featured in various literary journals and anthologies, including the highly regarded personal essay collection, Nothing But The Truth So Help Me God. She was the San Francisco Yoga Examiner for, and wrote over 200 articles on yoga and Pilates for In addition, she has maintained a blog and various newsletters devoted to healthy living, since 2007. She is a yoga teacher on hiatus with over 500 hours of teacher training, and over 20 years of personal practice. She is also a certified holistic wellness coach and a certified personal trainer. Andrea expresses her creative side not only through writing but visual arts and painting, and she has shown her work in cities in both Northern and Southern California.
