Description

This book helps parents to see how they go through their daily routine almost robotically, and it shows them a more meaningful way of living and strengthening relationships with their children. It is filled with practical suggestions on how to teach kids emotional control, to convey love, and to use positive discipline to guide their children to become responsible individuals. It also has ideas on helping children understand their inner world. Each of the 20 chapters first explains the skills and concepts, then presents 5 suggested activities to help parents apply what was learned, and finally has examples of 2 fictional families using the skills in a simple to understand way. This book discusses the neuroscience of mindful responding as is done in Goldie Hawn's book, 10 Mindful Minutes. It also has easy to apply steps as is found in 1-2-3 Magic by Thomas W. Phelan, Ph.D.show more
