How (Not) to Find a Boyfriend
Nora Fulbright is the most talented new cheerleader on the Riverbend High cheerleading squad. Never mind that she used to be a friendless overachiever with a penchant for chess-this year, Nora is determined to transform from social larva to full blown butterfly, even if it means dumbing herself down. But when Adam moves to town and steals Nora's heart with his ultra-smarts and illegally cute dimple, Nora has a problem. How can she prove to him that she's not a complete airhead? Nora devises a plan to switch into Adam's classes and wow him with her intellect. But soon after changing her schedule, Nora quickly loses control of her strategy and struggles to keep her image in check. In the end, will she be able to prove that she can be both a butterfly and a nerd?

Praise for "How (Not) to Find a Boyfriend" This sharp-witted debut pours on the wry comedy as a brainiac girl tries to hide her intelligence so she can be popular. "Kirkus Reviews" Valentine offers a book about honoring the truth, following one s bliss, and being oneself thatavoids being saccharine or overly prescriptive. "Publishers Weekly" "In the same vein as E. Lockhart s "The Disreputable History of Frankie Landau-Banks," the message of embracing who you are is one that teens need to hear. "SLJ""
