About D M Weaver

D. M. Weaver was born in Washington State into a military family. His childhood years were spent moving often with his family to different military bases around the globe. He loved his childhood and grew to appreciate the unique experiences that are had by a boy growing up on the different army bases and small communities throughout the United States and the world. Not only does he enjoy military history, but his upbringing has made him keenly aware of the sacrifices made by those who have served their country. His family background naturally steered him towards the life of a soldier, but as a young man, he sought to serve in a different kind of army. He decided to serve an LDS mission and spent two years in New Zealand. It was there that he learned to serve his Heavenly Father and His Son, Jesus Christ, as a missionary. He learned to love the Kiwis and the Polynesian people in all their variety. He made lifelong friends and took home an appreciation for people of different cultures. His dream is to one day visit the South Pacific again with his wife and someday serve another mission. After his mission, Weaver embraced university studies at BYU-Provo. He graduated with his Bachelor of Science Degree in 1985. He and his wife are presently raising their family in eastern Idaho where he works for the state and serves the Lord in whatever capacity he is called. Weaver has always written poetry, jotting down thoughts and inspirations, and even short stories. At his wife's urging, he is now sharing that work. She is very proud of him, as are his children. After going through a heart attack and quadruple bypass surgery, he says he has learned to lighten up and not take himself so seriously. He is learning to laugh more and enjoy life, for it can all change in a split second. To share this link, copy and paste into your browser: http: //
