Tom Angleberger's latest middle-grade novel begins when M'Lady Luggertuck loosens her corset (it's never been loosened before!), thereby setting off a chain of events in which all the strict rules around Smugwick Manor are abandoned. Then, the precious family heirloom, Luggertuck Lump (quite literally a lump), goes missing. Who's to blame? Is it Horton Halfpott, the good-natured but lowly kitchen boy who can't tell a lie? Or is it Luther Luggertuck, the youngest, most spoiled Luggertuck with an evil plan to marry the lovely Celia Sylvan-Smythe? A creative and colourful cast come together for an entertaining and edge-of-your-seat mystery for young readers.show more

About Tom Angleberger

Applying for a job as a newspaper artist, Tom was mistakenly assigned to cover local government meetings. Fifteen years and countless town council meetings later, he is still writing instead of drawing, currently as a columnist for The Roanoke Times in Roanoke, Virginia. He began work on his first book while in middle school. Now, many years later, he is apparently stuck in that time period, having written several books set in his old school, including Amulet's, The Strange Case of Origami Yoda. Tom is married to author/illustrator Cece Bel.show more
