Holidays on the Sutherland Farm in North Teesdale, Yorkshire : Recollections of Rosemary Marion Sutherland
This biographical account is that of my sister, Rosemary Marion Sutherland. It tells of her recollections of life on the farm as she experienced it during her school holidays. She, and her older sister, Mavis, spent as much time as they could on the farm, with the approval of both of their parents. It kept them out of trouble. Their older cousins William, Margaret and George, as well as their Aunt and Uncle, took them under their wings and gave them such memories that children would never forget. They fed chickens and calves, had pet lambs, milked goats, helped round up sheep and cows, supervised milking, and dipping and shearing sheep, and helped out with the haying. And what a time they had.
