Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. Minnan, also known as Hokkien is a sub-dialect of Min Chinese spoken in the southern parts of Fujian province, Taiwan, and by many overseas Chinese throughout Southeast Asia. The language is known in Mandarin as Min Nan Yu, Fu Lao Hua, or He Luo Hua. It is closely related to Teochew, though mutual comprehension is difficult, and somewhat more distantly related to Hainanese. Hokkien includes a variety of dialects of which Amoy and Taiwanese prestige dialect are considered standards.show more
