Dr. Ho Feng-Shan (simplified Chinese: traditional Chinese: pinyin: H F ngsh n, sometimes translated as He Fengshan; born September 10, 1901, Yiyang, Hunan, China-died September 28, 1997, San Francisco, California, USA) was a Chinese diplomat in Vienna who saved more than one thousand Jews, risking his own life and his career. Austrian filmmakers Jacob and Luise Fleck received the last visas for China in 1940 and went on to produce films in Shanghai. Ho's actions were recognized posthumously when he was awarded the title Righteous among the Nations by the Israeli organization Yad Vashem in 2001. He is known as "China's Schindler."
