Excerpt from History for Ready Reference, From the Best Historians, Biographers, and Specialists, Vol. 7 of 7: Their Own Words in a Complete System of History for All Uses, Extending to All Countries and Subjects, and Representing for Both Readers and Students the Better and Newer Literature of History in the English Language; Recent History, 1901 to 1910, a to Z
As was said of Volume VI., it can'be said, I think, with even more truth of this, that it presents History in the making, the day by day evolution of events and changes as they passed under the hands and before the eyes and were recorded by the pens of the actual makers and witnesses of them.
As an appendix to the present volume, a new feature, related to the whole work, has been introduced. It offers a considerably extensive series of systematic courses for historical study and reading, the literature for which is supplied in the seven volumes of History for Ready Reference. This has been prepared in response to many requests which the publishers have received. Even for casual investiga tions it will be found serviceable to every possessor and user of the work.
