Last Monday morning, April 27, he quietly passed away and the news was received here by many sorrowing friends. The remains were brought to this village yesterday noon and the funeral will be held at the home of his parents to-morrow afternoon at half after two o'clock. Charles Hjerpe was born March 14, 1875, in Kansas, the son of Frederick Hjerpe, a farmer, and of Caroline (Nelson) Hjerpe. B.A., Bethany, 1902. B.A., 1905, entering college in the fall of 1904. In July, 1906, Hjerpe wrote from Meriden, Conn., where his address was 97 Kensington Avenue: "Studying and preaching." Word came from him on March 15, 1908, that he is connected with Walden College in McPherson, Kan. In the interval he studied for some time in the Yale Graduate School.
