Excerpt from Historical Sketch of the Origin, Progress, and Present State of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of the University, New-York: With a View of the College
The above extracts from the proceeding of the Regents of the University, supersede the necessity of any remarks on the subject to which they relate. The changes proposed to be made both in the Officers and in the government of the College, were such as manifested equally a regard to the rights of other establishments, and the solicitude Of the Regents for the welfare of that which they had founded and cherished.
Though their laudable designs were for a while, in a par tial degree, protracted, on account Of the conduct of some gentlemen, in relation to the professorships with which they were honoured, yet such arrangements were adopted by the Board Of Trustees, now created according to the new Charter, that the various courses of instruction delivered by the professors formed a complete system of medical educa tion.
