The next Day five Petitions, of the County of Derby, Borough as East-Retford in Nottinghamjhire, of the Borough of Etejbam in Worcefierjhire, Borough of, Newark upon Trent, and Borough, of Newbury in BerJtJbire, for Justice, being read, two other Petitions against the Duties upon ' Ccj Soap Soap and Candles, were also read, as was also a Petition of the Annuitants, and Proprietors of the Redeemable Debts, setting forth, That they bad lent a great Part of their Estates on the Credit of several' Acts of Parliament sol-the Publick Service 5 and that they thought they had sufficient Security; but found themselves betray'd, and given up by the Managers appointed by their-Trustees, contrary to the true Intent and Meaning of the Law, and contrary to the faith of Publick Credit; and begging the Justice of the House, for Relief against the Fraud of the late SnttlrSea Directors, as well as the great and notorious Brrach of Trust in the Managers. And that, in order to restore the Publick Credit, the Petitioners rnight have a just and reasonaSle Sitisfction; and tint their Cafe be duly consider'd and distiiiguisli'd from thic of the Money-Subscribers, who had been excus'tl nine Parts in ten, in the third Subscription, and four Parts in five in the Fourth; and humbly hoping, that such Relief might be granted them, as might be equal and proportionable to their different Claims and Titles.
